Ellwanger Garden Open Sundays

Ellwanger Garden, brimming with rare and beautiful perennials, is open to the public on select Sundays in May.
Located at 625 Mt. Hope Avenue, Rochester’s “secret garden” is maintained by The Landmark Society of Western New York. This living preservation site, established in 1867 by famed Rochester nurseryman George Ellwanger, boasts eight different kinds of perennials, including collections of peonies, roses, daylilies, hostas, irises and spring and summer flowering bulbs.
The garden will be open to the public from noon to 3:00 p.m. during the Lilac Festival on Sundays, May 10 and 17 as well as May 24 and 31.
Please do not drive onto the property at 625 Mt Hope: look for signs directing to nearby off-site parking. A suggested $5 per person donation is appreciated to help maintain the garden. Divisions of peonies and other perennials are available for purchase. Service animals only.
