Masonry Repair Workshop

Saturday, June 20th, from 10am – 4pm
Join The Landmark Society and Brian Daddis Heritage Masonry for a hands-on workshop at Historic Houseparts in Rochester. Learn the essential skills for maintaining and restoring historic masonry – perfect for homeowners, property managers, or anyone passionate about traditional building techniques.
Participants will receive a detailed workshop packet covering the role of lime mortar, tips for sourcing the right materials, and guidance on reconditioning historic stone and brick walls. During the hands-on portion, you’ll practice removing old mortar, mixing and applying new lime mortar, experimenting with different finishing techniques, and properly curing lime mortar.
This interactive workshop is designed for all skill levels – whether you want to roll up your sleeves or observe and learn, you’ll gain practice knowledge to care for historic masonry with confidence.
Space is limited to 12 participants, and these workshops fill quickly – register early to secure your spot!
All materials, tools, gloves, dust masks, and safety glasses will be provided for use during the workshop, but you’re welcome to bring your own safety gear if you prefer.
