Each year, preservationists around the country celebrate the places, people, and projects that have shaped our communities and that provide us all with a tangible connection to our past. Even though we may not be able to get together in person to take a walking tour or visit our favorite historic site, we can still celebrate the places that matter to us. To help you celebrate, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite preservation-themed coloring books and pages:

1.

Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t recommend our very own coloring and activity book, The Littlest Preservationist, designed by a former SUNY Brockport graphic student, Lyndsey Galasso.

2.

Preservation50, the 2016 program that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, has several celebratory coloring pages available for download on their website.

3.

On the landscape side of things, the Central Park Conservancy in NYC offers several nature-themed coloring pages.

4.

Pines Preservation Guild, in North Carolina, is releasing a new coloring page each week during Preservation Month. Each page highlights a specific historic building in their community. Sign up on their website and they’ll send you the pages when they come out.

5.

Closer to home, Buffalo-based preservation colleague, Dana Saylor, has an East Aurora themed coloring book available for purchase through her Etsy shop.

6.

Preservation Detroit has several, highly detailed, coloring pages available for download here.

7.

And, finally, if those aren’t enough to keep you busy, the National Trust for Historic Preservation also has a roundup of 15 free coloring pages. Check that out here.

Happy coloring!
