Shristi Tamrakar Joins landmark staff as preservation intern

We are so excited to welcome Shristi to the team as our new Preservation Intern!

Shristi joined the LSWNY team in June 2021 as a Preservation Intern, who will be working with the Landmark Society and Bero Architecture for the Summer 2021. She will be involved in citywide surveys in Rochester and covenant reviews working closely with the Director of Preservation and the preservation team at the LSWNY. At Bero Architecture, she will be assisting with building condition assessment reports and adaptive re-use of existing buildings learning the nitty-gritty of the process. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Historic Preservation at University of Florida (UF), and received her Undergraduate degree in Architecture from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. She worked as an associate architect for two years in Nepal before pursuing her Master’s degree in the states.

Prior becoming an intern with the LSWNY, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for historic preservation at UF, researching and documenting historic sites using LiDAR (Terrestrial Laser scanning). Cultural resource surveys, processing point clouds, and preparing existing drawings were her primary tasks there.

In her leisure, she enjoys painting, taking hikes and long walks, and loves being surrounded by nature. Being new to Rochester, she is excited to explore all the adventures Rochester has to offer.
