One of the consequences of the pandemic was cancellation of the Fall 2020 Inside Downtown Tour. Good news: We’re back! We couldn’t wait a whole year to bring you this special tour. You’ll be able to enjoy the tour in March, and the best news of all: it’s a virtual tour!

Our House and Garden Virtual Tour was a smash hit, so we’re building on that success by producing a virtual tour for the Inside Downtown Tour. You’ll enjoy the same benefits as the virtual House and Garden Tour as you enjoy this urban tour from your favorite computer, laptop or mobile device. No waiting in lines, no parking or weather worries, no shoe covers – and no waiting for elevators!

Another nice benefit of a virtual tour is that we don’t have to limit it to one walkable area. We can expand the reach of the tour, bringing you downtown spaces in multiple neighborhoods.

Based on feedback from the fall House and Garden Virtual Tour we will also give you the opportunity to view it remotely with friends or family members. You can enjoy the sites with a loved one in another state or even country.

What has not changed: The Inside Downtown Virtual Tour will still open up to you urban environments where people are creating exciting spaces to live and work. We visit re-purposed spaces, renovated homes, lovingly preserved places, and newly built sites that are designed with sensitivity to the overall built environment. You’ll basically get a crash course on what’s the latest trend in urban living.

The professionally produced video tour will be available to view from March 19th to April 4th. You can watch it any time you like during that period, pause the video, even “rewind” sections. The tour will be close captioned, making it accessible to those with hearing issues or who, like me, want to follow along with the text.

Wondering what it’s like to take one of our virtual tours? Here’s what people said about the Fall House and Garden Virtual Tour:

I loved the virtual because the commentary was excellent & focused on details which is sometimes lost when in crowds.

Virtual offered opportunity for those with physical problems or bad weather or less time.

I attended this tour with my daughter who lives in Virginia. It was a wonderful way for us to ‘be together’ and do something we both enjoy.
