Women in Preservation and Design (YUP Brainery Class)
March 2, 2023 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
For Women’s History Month, celebrate some of the femme figures who have made their mark on our cities, neighborhoods, and small towns. From nationally known figures like Louise B. Bethune, who was American’s first professional female architect, to local icons like Helen Ellwanger, who founded one of the nation’s earliest preservation organizations, the Landmark Society of Western New York, this class will explore the preservationists, urbanists, architects, and other designers who have shaped the built environment.

Instructors are members of the Young Urban Preservationists, an affiliate group of The Landmark Society of Western New York. The YUPs are an emerging generation of preservationists in the greater Rochester region dedicated to promoting inclusive, modern, and innovative preservation practices to help revitalize communities and our built environment. And we have fun doing it!
