Lawrence Halprin’s Legacy: Manhattan Square Park

September 17, 2016 @ 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

The Cultural Landscape Foundation will present a free tour of Rochester’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park (formerly known as Manhattan Square Park) on Saturday, September 17 at 4 PM.

Designed by master landscape architect Lawrence Halprin, the park opened in 1974 as an element of Rochester’s urban renewal efforts. The tour will provide a history of Halprin’s vision for Rochester and highlight recent rehabilitative efforts in the park.

JoAnn Beck, retired senior landscape architect and project manager for the City of Rochester, will lead the tour. JoAnn managed the ongoing rehabilitation of the park.

The tour is free, but registration is required. Visit: http://tclf.org/event/lawrence-halprin-manhattan-square-park?destination=events
