Steering Committee meeting Monday

Come meet the small but mighty team that runs the YUPs! This month’s steering committee meeting takes place Monday, October 28th at 6:30 PM. Meetings typically last about an hour and anyone is welcome to attend.

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about work, our long term goals, and find out if you want to get involved.

A new talk presented by the YUPs

A presentation taking you on a whirlwind tour of 200 years of Rochester’s architectural history and the personalities who created it!

Ever wonder who was responsible for designing some of your favorite buildings in Rochester? This talk will provide an introduction to the many local architects and their buildings that have shaped the city we all know and love today. Learn about the designers responsible for City Hall, the Liberty Pole, and some houses too, with lots of eye-candy visuals, some fun facts, and maybe even a bit of historical gossip!

Hosted at the newly restored, historic Little Theatre!

The Landmark Society is in the process of conducting a feasibility study to determine if and how the organization could launch a Preservation Revolving Fund. Many preservation organizations throughout the country utilize different types of revolving funds to help save at-risk historic properties. (To learn more about revolving funds, check out this video).
