We are revving up the engines to return to Titan Motorworks on Friday September 18th from 5PM to 8PM for another evening of great food, great drink, great cars, and great friends. Again this year, Max Rochester will be catering, the Mystic Sisters Band will be playing, and the ever-popular silent auction will be filled with gear head (and non-gear head) items. All of this combined with an open bar, bourbon tasting, and a fun group of supporters makes this one of the best parties of the year! And the car-centric weekend continues on Saturday, September 19th from 10AM to 4PM with a self-guided tour to several private garages and car collections. This is a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to view unique and rare automobiles and to enjoy the company of like-minded automobile aficionados. And it’s also a wonderful way for those of us that just appreciate beautiful vehicles to spend a September Saturday afternoon alongside those we love. Architecture on the Go is a walking tour series that invites participants to examine how architecture and landscape communicate through form, material, pattern, and spatial relationships. Moving through the built environment, participants learn to read landscapes as layered text. Drawing on his background as a trained geologist, Tyler Lucero introduces participants to the vocabulary of this visual and material language, offering tools to interpret and engage more critically with the landscapes they inhabit. Through close observation, the tour reveals how the built and natural environment together shape narratives of place. Architecture on the Go is a FREE walking tour for guests, with sites located near public parking lots or at locations with their own parking lots. Masonry Repair Workshop - RECAP |

This past Saturday, we were thrilled to partner with Brian Daddis of Heritage Masonry for our Masonry Repair Workshop! The day began at Warner Castle with a classroom session covering the fundamentals of historic masonry. Brian walked participants through the different types of masonry materials, how brick and mortar have changed over time, how to assess historic masonry walls and foundations, and the tools and mortar mixes best suited for repairs. Participants also learned the difference between repointing and tuckpointing and why using the right materials and techniques is so important when working on historic buildings. In the afternoon, we headed to Historic Houseparts on South Avenue for hands-on learning. Participants practiced dutchman repairs and masonry patching on sample bricks before putting their new skills to work on the building’s brick wall and stone foundation. Using hand tools, they carefully removed deteriorated mortar, mixed new compatible mortar, and learned the proper techniques for repointing historic masonry. A huge thank you to Brian for sharing his expertise and to everyone who joined us for a fantastic day of learning and preservation.
