Dear House Captains,
I hope this message finds you well. We are excited to announce that this year’s Landmark Society House & Garden Tour will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 6th and 7th, in the Charlotte neighborhood.
We currently have a selection of six (and growing!) sites, including both private homes and historic community buildings, and we are seeking House Captains for each location. Each site will also require additional docents throughout both days.
If you are interested in serving as a House Captain, please let me, Brandon W. Brooks bbrooks@landmarksociety.org, know no later than Wednesday, May 13th. In your response, kindly include:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your contact phone number (this information will be kept confidential and used only by Landmark staff for coordination purposes)
Your contact information is essential for Landmark staff to communicate with you during the planning process and throughout the tour weekend.
Please also indicate:
- Which day(s) you are available (Saturday and/or Sunday)
- Your preferred shift:
- Morning: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Once you have expressed interest, I will follow up with your assigned site, location details, and confirmed day and shift based on your availability. After your assignment is confirmed, I will also provide you with the contact information for the point person(s) at your site. You will then coordinate directly with them to schedule a meeting, determine the flow of the tour, and assess docent needs. Following that, you will be responsible for coordinating docents to support your site’s specific needs.
Please also note that a House Captain Meeting will be held on Monday, May 18th at 2:00 PM, with both in-person and Zoom attendance options available. The meeting will take place at Warner Castle, 5 Castle Park, Rochester.
Thank you for your continued support—we truly appreciate your involvement in making this event a success.
