Caring for Your Historic Building - Go Green!
Strategies for Historic Buildings:
experts in the field will teach practical ways to
conserve resources, save money, and protect your historic building. Also learn about how you CAN make your historic wood
windows energy efficient AND save significant costs, too! Window
Repair: Save Resources, Save Money! has demonstrations on window repair
for older homes, focusing on the benefits of using historic windows instead
of replacement windows.

Historic Preservation 101

State Tax Credits for Home & Business Rehabilitation session.
The National Register nomination
process is often the first step toward
obtaining grants for historic properties and is required for buildings to
qualify for federal and state investment tax credits. Learn how to navigate this
somewhat intimidating process like a pro with
Preparing a National Register Nomination Form.
Participants will meet the staff from the New York State Office of Parks,
Recreation and Historic Preservation, who review National Register nominations
and shepherd them through completion.

Preservation Board & Commission Training

Because of the
popularity and value of preservation board sessions, we now offer this useful
training as an annual component of the conference, with a different emphasis
each year to build a comprehensive set of skills. Members
of city, village and town preservation boards won’t want to miss this valuable
workshop that enhances their ability to serve as an integral part of the
municipal planning framework!
This year’s in-depth
