Workshop Tracks

If you work with, live in, or want to save a historic property, you won’t want to miss The Landmark Society’s 24th Annual Regional Preservation Conference on Saturday, April 24. With an eye on the current economic climate and a focus on renewable/green technologies and sustainability, this year’s conference is built around preservation strategies for challenging times. From the economic benefits of reusing historic downtown buildings, to the ways homeowners can save money by preserving their homes’original features, you’ll learn how historic buildings and landscapes contribute to economically and environmentally healthy, sustainable communities.

The conference, now in its 24th year, is the gathering place for people who live in, work with, or admire older buildings and neighborhoods and want to:

  • Maintain or restore a historic building

  • Save money by restoring, rather than replacing, historic features

  • Revitalize a neighborhood

  • Ensure that historic buildings and landscapes contribute to economically and environmentally healthy, sustainable communities

  • Enhance the viability of a traditional downtown

  • Serve your community as an elected official or member of a preservation, zoning, or planning board

  • Understand and evaluate historic buildings

  • Identify promising opportunities in historic real estate

  • Network with and learn from others who have similar interests and goals

Attendance at this conference may fulfill training requirements for members of local planning and zoning boards
and/or offer AIA CES credits. See workshop track details for specific credit information.
