living museum, Ellwanger Garden contains noteworthy collections of perennials,
roses, and trees. Continuously cultivated since 1867 by the family of
one of Rochester's most prominent nurserymen, George Ellwanger, the garden
represents a historic period landscape. Ellwanger Garden is open annually
during the Lilac Festival and for Peony Weekend. Other times by appointment
